Today, the world is experiencing fierce competition in the mobile industry, with everyone struggling to  bring out something innovative and valuable solution for the users. With Apple and Google already churning out cutting-edge solutions in the mobile platform field, Mozilla too is not behind, as it's working out to deliver exceptional program through its new mobile OS in the market. Where Apple's iOS and Google's Android are the most popular operating systems for phones and tablets, Mozilla has taken up the challenge and entered this over competitive market.

Just a few weeks ago, it has introduced its first Firefox OS smartphones for developers, who can try their hands on the functions and features of the OS. The two 3G smartphones – Peak and Keon revealed for Firefox OS, were built in partnership with a Spanish start-up named GeekPhone and Spanish telecommunications provider Telefonica. Geared for firefox developers rather than mainstream customers, this OS offers a great pool of functions and features.

Mozilla declared in its official blog, - "This week we are announcing our new Firefox OS developer preview phones because we believe that developers will help bring the power of the web to mobile."

Still under development and the final official version not yet available, Mozilla's OS is a browser-based open source operating system for smartphones and tablet computers. Based on HTML 5, this mobile OS offers open environment to the developers so that they can build web applications with a set of exceptional features. This implies that the programmers will definitely have a compelling content experience on Firefox OS.

Further, Mozilla stated that compared to " walled gardens" of Apple iOS and Google Android, this operating system is more accessible and completely open to develop web applications.

With Mozilla's attempt to bring more openness to the Apple and Android platform's walled garden, our Firefox developers have taken a step to try their skills on this new mobile OS. So, far we have created custom firefox plug-ins and add-ons making use of the extensive range of the various Mozilla's web browser features. However, with this innovative system, we aim to build out-of-the-box solutions for you.

Till, we have more details to share on our experience on the new OS, stay tuned!
